H·A·L·費舍爾
赫伯特·阿爾伯特·勞倫斯·費舍爾[1] [2]（1865年3月21日—1940年4月18日）是一位英國歷史學家、教育家和自由黨政治家。1916年至1922年在大衛·勞合·喬治的聯合政府中擔任教育大臣。

費舍爾是牛津大學現代史導師。他的著作包括《波拿巴主義》（1908年）、《歐洲的共和傳統》（1911年）和《拿破崙》（1913年）。[3]1912年9月，他（與伊斯靈頓勳爵、羅納德謝勳爵、阿卜杜勒·拉希姆等人）被任命為1912年至1915年印度公共服務皇家委員會成員。[5]1913年至1917年間，他擔任謝菲爾德大學副校長。[6]
1916年12月，費舍爾當選為謝菲爾德哈勒姆選區議員[3][7] ，並加入大衛·勞合·喬治政府，擔任教育大臣。同月，他宣誓就任樞密院議員。在此職位，他對1918年教育法令的製定發揮了重要作用，該法規定 14歲以下兒童必須上學。[3]費雪也負責制定1918年《學校教師（退休金）法案》，該法案為所有教師提供退休金。[8]

1943 年，英國情報機構肉餡行動中，為了欺騙敵軍，捏造了一名假皇家海軍陸戰隊軍官，將其屍體拋入海上，希望其所攜帶的虛假情報能夠被相信。 由於虛構的馬丁少校是個有一定經濟能力的人，他需要優質的內褲，但由於配給，很難獲得，情報官員也不願意捐獻自己的內褲。 最後用了費舍爾的內褲，欺騙中使用的屍體穿著費舍爾的優質羊毛內褲，成功地誤導了德國情報部門。[15][16]

費舍爾於1899年與經濟學家兼歷史學家萊蒂斯·伊爾伯特（Lettice Ilbert，1875-1956年）結婚。他們唯一的孩子是英國學者瑪麗·貝內特。

牛津新學院懸掛着凱瑟琳·道奇森 ( Catharine Dodgson）繪製的費舍爾肖像畫和威廉·尼克爾森 （William Nicholson）繪製的油畫肖像。該學院還擁有Berthe Noufflard of Fisher、Lettice Ilbert和Mary Bennett撰寫的對話文章。
