Fl. small, in ample terminal panicles. Stamens dia- delphous, anthers uniform, obtuse. Pod coriaceous, one seed at the end, lower portion indehiscent. 16 species ; 9 Indian, 1 in tropical Africa, the rest in the Malayan region.
