罗伯特·杰特曼
罗伯特·克利福德·杰特曼（Robert Clifford Gentleman，1959年—）是一名加拿大统计学家、生物信息学家。[5] 截止至2015年，杰特曼担任23andMe主管计算生物学的副总裁。[6][7]杰特曼与罗斯·伊哈卡是R语言的最初作者[8][9] ，杰特曼还是Bioconductor计划的创始人之一。[10][11][12]

杰特曼在不列颠哥伦比亚大学获得主修数学的理学士学位[6]他于1988年获得华盛顿大学统计学博士学位；其答辩论文标题为《Exploratory methods for censored data》。[13]

二十世纪九十年代中期杰特曼在奥克兰大学统计系任教授。在此期间杰特曼与罗斯·伊哈卡开发了R语言。[8][14]2001年杰特曼发起了Bioconductor计划，旨在促进开发计算生物学与生物信息学的开源工具。2009年杰特曼开始在Genentech担任主管生物信息学与计算生物学的资深主管。[15][16]2015年4月杰特曼在生物技术公司23andMe担任副总裁，[6] 旨在向该公司提供其在生物信息学与计算药物开发上的特长。[7]杰特曼还在统计软件公司Revolution Analytics担任董事。[14]
